9/11 was a “failure of human understanding,” says Gov. Patrick
From HotAir.com,
“Among many other things, 9/11 was a failure of human understanding,” Patrick said. “It was a mean and nasty and bitter attack on the United States. But it was also a failure of human beings to understand each other, to learn to love each other.”
As AllahPundit of HotAir.com says:
He’s right, 9/11 was a failure of understanding. … So was, and ever will be, every conflict, large or small, between human beings until the end of time. If you can’t distill anything more concrete about the attacks than the lesson plan for day one of Psych 101, I dare say it’s time to hire a new speechwriter. Which is not to say I’m accusing Patrick’s staff of being stupid; they understand the lessons well enough, they’re just afraid to say anything that might “offend” the perpetually aggrieved. Hence this oatmeal, which tacitly blames Americans as much as it does Osama for the circumstances that led to people nosediving off the top of the Trade Center that morning.
“Moral equivalency” is standard leftist tripe. They did the same thing during World War III … they spoke of “the two superpowers” and snickered at the “simpleton” Reagan who spoke of the Soviets as being an evil empire.
